Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Tuesday that the Republican-led US Senate will vote on a reduced economic relief bill for coronavirus that Democrats have rejected because they are expecting trillions. More as Election Day approaches.
President Donald Trump, a Republican who canceled coronavirus relief talks last week only to restart them days later, pressed lawmakers again on Tuesday to “Go big or go home!!!”
However, McConnell said the first job request for the entire Senate upon his return on Monday would be a vote on a $ 500 billion exemption bill that leverages unused funds from the Payroll Check Protection program.
Democrats, who control the House of Representatives, on Sunday, rejected the simplified measure of using money left over from the expired Small Business Loan program.
