As part of his commitment to securing Texas' shared border with Mexico, Gov. Greg Abbott signed a fourth memorandum of understanding between Texas and another Mexican governor late Friday.

A memorandum of understanding between Abbott and Tamaulipas Governor Francisco Garca Cabeza de Vaca was signed in Weslaco, Texas, on Friday to help prevent illegal border crossings and improve commercial traffic across the international bridge.

The state of Texas and four Mexican governors in states with international bridges reached an agreement within a week despite criticism of Abbott's proposal.

The signing came as a fourth bus transporting illegal immigrants released by the Biden administration into Texas reached Washington, arriving Saturday morning.
